Goodness gracious have I ever fallen behind on emails, but it won’t last for much longer.
Not only am I going to catch up, but I have some big plans for moving forward (see below…).
If you read my last email you know that not only was it a hectic week on the business side, but on top of that my wife (who is 8 months pregnant may I add) and I moved last week. And for those of you who, like me, don’t remember how crappy and time-consuming moving is, let me tell you: moving sucks.
The planning, the packing, the moving, the unpacking, it’s just a never-ending cycle of suck, although I have to say, now that we’re starting to settle into our new place, I’m pretty happy (because it’s a lot more space and we really love it).
Anyway, as most of you know, I usually send 2-4 emails like this each week but I just haven’t been able to.
The unpacking, the doctor visits, the baby prep, the end-of-year rush of interest for our immigration tech platform at Visto.ai, it’s all exciting stuff but has meant less time to write (and think?).
So I wanted to let you in on my plan for the last 2 weeks of this year (crazy how fast 2024 went by) and next.
In no particular order:
the rest of this week continues to be super busy so don’t expect a ton from me.
we’re then closing the office from Dec. 24 to Jan 1. Not only do I think it’s a good idea and time for a company to take a break, but I’ve personally felt the need for a full week off. My last 4+ day break was on our June trip to Japan (you can read more about that epic trip here) and as I’ve said before, I find the optimal vacation strategy is 2x 7-10 day vacations per year.
on my week off, I’m going to do a lot of reading, walking, working out, reflecting and writing. That includes writing an email to you lovely readers almost every day. It’ll be on my favorite topics: business, plans for 2025, growth, marketing, etc. You’re gonna like ‘em
I’m also doing some planning for 2025, and in January I’m going to finally pull the trigger on something I’ve wanted to launch for years - an online community for small biz owners. It’s going to be a select few and very intentional for those who want a bit more accountability, motivation and a small group of like-minded folks they can rely on. Won’t be free (because that attracts the wrong crowd) but won’t be expensive. Keep an eye out for more info if interested…
lastly, I’m going to focus on recharging for a big year in 2025. My high-level goals are to work more efficiently and drastically increase revenue, with a major focus on focus (ie. cutting the fat). Expect more writing on those topics in the coming weeks as well
That’s it for me.
If you have any feedback or interest in the above then let me know, otherwise get ready for an insightful week ahead of writing.
Have a great day,
