Most people still don't know what's coming
A really fun webinar that I hosted and a big personal update
Happy Monday folks,
Another Monday means another weekly update and hopefully some business motivation.
Let’s jump in:
Story: An eye opening webinar
Been hosting or guesting on a good amount of webinars recently - which is a great marketing strategy by the way - and had an especially fun one this week.
Why?
Because it opened my eyes to how a lot of people are thinking about, or not thinking about, AI.
As most of you know by now, I’m the cofounder of an immigration tech platform and we use automation + AI to make the Canadian immigration process better. It also means I spend a fair amount of time educating our market on the benefits of tech and AI, because as you can probably imagine, many of the immigration professionals out there don’t use it much.
In fact, as I learned this week, many haven’t even been on the Chat GPT website…
Anyway, back to the story, I was giving a webinar to a group of immigration professionals on the basics of AI and also talking about the pros and cons of it. It was a pretty good presentation if I do say so myself, but it was the Q&A that was extra fun/interesting for me.
There were a lot of great questions, but there were also a few comments from people who either 1) have never used AI before, at all, and/or 2) completely opposed even the thought of using it (because it’s “evil”), but after my presentation had changed their opinion on it a bit.
I think one of the key reasons is because I focused so much on how we can use it for good - not evil - and also showed extremely practical ways any professional, young or old, could use it to grow their business.
As they say, “you don’t know what you don’t know”, and a few of the attendees simply had no idea how powerful AI already is (and how much better it’ll be in the near future).
Key takeaway: please educate yourself on what’s out there
I’m not trying to pat my own back too hard here, but some of these webinar attendees had no idea what they were missing out on by simply trying out the free version of Chat GPT and how it can change their business for the better.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m no AI whiz, but I’m making a concerted effort to stay up-to-date on the functions, features and potential, especially so we can apply it to our own business and product.
Are you?
Content for the week:
Vlog: Another week means another vlog. Why read my posts when you can listen to my deep, soothing voice share updates as well? Okay that was kinda creepy… anyway… here it is:
Book: I’m almost halfway through The LEGO Story: How a Little Toy Sparked the World's Imagination. It’s a really interesting read so far, but also quite dense. Long pages and lots of detail, especially in the early days before they even built their first lego! But I’m enjoying the story so far and will continue.
Tiktok: my most viewed Tiktok vid from last week is, ironically, a video about how I create videos… check it out if you’re looking to grow using video content here!
Personal side note: I’m getting married this Saturday! Obviously very excited and the entire weekend will be a complete write-off, so expect either a late update next week, or potentially none at all (will depend on how many drinks we have, I think…).
Thanks as always for following along on my journey and have a great week,
