Happy New Years folks, we’re back in action after a much needed and enjoyed break for the holidays.
Although I have to admit, it didn’t go as planned.
If you read my last email, you might remember that one of my plans for the holidays was:
"on my week off, I’m going to do a lot of reading, walking, working out, reflecting and writing. That includes writing an email to you lovely readers almost every day.”
While I was able to relax and recharge over the holidays, I mostly failed on the above.
More specifically, I didn’t:
do much walking, as the weather was kind of crappy in Toronto
do much working out, because I was lazy (no sugar-coating here)
do much writing, and failed to send a single email
I think that previous email was a bit too hopeful, as by now I know myself and I know I really like to veg out over the holidays, so I never should’ve made a promise I couldn’t keep.
What I did do:
relax with family and friends
eat (a fair amount)
a lot of reading and thinking
plan for 2025
What I like about taking 7+ days off work is it gives your brain some time to rest and get more in-tune with what you really want, which made planning for 2025 a bit easier and more productive, which I’m happy about.
I’ll go into more detail on what my key goals and plans are for 2025 in my next email, but it boils down to 3 core things:
family (my wife is now 38 weeks pregnant and we could have our first baby any day now…)
focus (in terms of products/target markets for Visto, my law firm and this substack)
cashflow
One thing is for sure: I’m relaxed and recharged for a big 2025, and as always, I’ll be sure to share my plans, wins and losses with you each and every week.
Have a great day,
