My best blog posts of all time (and why)
Sat down to write an email today and my mind blanked.
It’s been a nice long weekend that I’ve mostly spent with friends and family, and a bit of a mental break from business before we crank it up a notch for the last 4 months of 2025 (crazy how fast it’s going).
Anyway, instead of writing something new, I wanted to highlight 3 of my old posts that you might enjoy because:
the first 2 posts are ones that I go back and re-read myself sometimes (one of the many, many reasons why I think blogging is so incredible - as a way to cement your memories that you can then go back and re-visit);
perhaps you weren’t on this email list when I initially posted them;
perhaps you have read them in the past but could benefit from a re-read for a variety of reasons;
perhaps you’re just bored and looking for something to kill time on.
Here they are and why you should read them:
The story of running my first (and only) marathon
This is probably the longest blog post I’ve ever written, and definitely the one I spent the most time writing and editing.
For those who don’t know, in December of 2019 I decided - on a bit of a whim - that I wanted to run a marathon (having never ran more than 10k in my life). I go into full detail on why I made the decision, my planning, training, running and much more.
It was an incredible journey for a variety of reasons I won’t spoil here, so if you’re looking for a taste of motivation, setting massive goals, overcoming adversity, challenging yourself and much more, pour a cup of coffee and give it a read here.
A death, birth and birthday: the most bittersweet week of my life
I think I mentioned this post a week or two ago, but this is the story from earlier this year of probably the most life-changing week of my life. Again I don’t want to spoil it, but when you have to bury your grandmother in one city on Monday and then are holding your first baby in another city on Tuesday, it makes for quite the week.
It’s a story I’ll never forget, and you can read it here.
The free AI tool that's changing how I practice law (and how you can use it too)
Lastly, and very differently from the first 2 (which were more personal), I went into my substack stats and looked up my most read post of all time.
This was one of my more tactical posts with steps/screenshots on how I’m using NotebookLM to save TONS of time in my law practice. In fact, I still am using this exact tool almost every day months later. I think it’s maybe the most slept on AI tool right now.
It’s a shorter, more practical read that you can check out here.
Hope you’ll enjoy 1, 2 or maybe even all 3 of the above, and if you do, let me know what you think of them!
Have a great day,
